What are some reliable yet inexpensive hosting solutions for dedicated servers?

I have developed a java based web application using struts, tomcat, mysql etc. I want to host all of these on a server (OS platform should not matter since it is all Java and mysql) that runs in some reliable data center. I want to get the benefit of all the managed services (they take backups etc right) but have my own server for dealing with the user-load and also that the Java apps dont run nicely on shared hosted systems (and they will not have all the tools and libraries we use). I am looking to see if there is any data center in India as well that has proven connectivity. Whatsoever information on this topic is much appreciated.

I’d like to see what people have to say about this too. I’m not sure if this will help, but it should certainly get you in the ballpark.

Try taking a look at some of the recommended business web hosting solutions mentioned on this site:

http://www.onlinewebhostguide.com

Most business hosting companies have dedicated servers as part of what they offer. I’m sure you could get them fully managed too…that’s what I’d shoot for too.

Hope that helps.

Wow, nice setup ya going to need. It depends really on what is going to be hosted but i would start out first with a dedicated 10MBPS connection first and raise it from there if thats to low.

How many percents of web hosting servers offer Java/JSP hosting and Ruby hosting, respectively?

How many percent do Java/JSP hosting servers/vendors account for?
How many percent do Ruby hosting servers/vendors account for?
What are the Java/JSP web hosting market shares and Ruby web hosting market shares respectively?

Well in my exp…

JSP hosting – very small number as it sucks, maybe 2 to 5% of all companies, although in terms of total number of customers that have access to it maybe 15%…

For Ruby I would say closer to 65% in terms of companies and 80% for customers that have access.

I need a good inexpensive web hosting service?

It needs run Tomcat, MySQL, and JSP as a minimum, with good response times.

well i’m doing alot of web design lately, and I usually try to cut corners with hosting. I always go cheap. The cheapest I’ve seen is $4.95/mo that uses about anything ie. cgi, php, jsp, mysql, etc. with free domain name and free set up. I like this part, cause I like to know what I pay ahead of time. I’ve used these guys a bunch, and I would only say good things about them.
