got a ticket for hosting an open-house party with underage drinking. no MIPs were given. what am i looking at?

had about 12 people over for the hockey game. 8 people drank. i only blew a .017 and the officers handed out warnings to everyone but since i was the host i got a ticket for an open-house-party. the officer said he let us off easy, what’s the case here?

you were really lucky you didn’t go to jail! (or juvy because your underaged) pay the ticket, don’t make a case against it. Then, next time, go to someone elses house! (you’ll only get a warning)

Would it be OK to host a holiday party/open house in an apartment building?

Do we need to ask permission from landlord/apt manager/apt building superintendent? Any ideas/suggestions for holiday party/open house in an apartment building?

Should not be a problem so long as you don’t violate any rules (normally noise is to be held way down from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. at least; may be some parking restrictions in play, etc.). If you mean you want to use a common area to host a party, then you should consult with management as if you don’t and others have plans, it’s going to potentially get ugly. Again, noise/parking/etc issues still apply but probably is also a fee to use a common area.
